With the start of the heatwave, now is the time to get out and enjoy the garden. Don’t worry if you haven’t picked up all your garden essentials yet, as many stores still have stock of furniture and accessories. I have spotted some stores are slashing the prices of outdoor furniture ALREADY!
If you’re looking for some garden essentials to make the most of the lovely weather, here are some of my favourites. Everything in this post is under £100, making these affordable last-minute buys for your garden.
Hosting a party this weekend? In my recent post, I round up some stylish barbecues and accessories under £300. Great for a garden party!
Furniture and accessories
In sunny weather like this, a sun lounger is a must-have for your garden. Perfect if you’re looking to simply top-up your tan, or just relax in the sun with your favourite book. The Textilene Sunbed from Wyevale Garden Centres is made from a lightweight aluminium frame. The seat is weather and mould resistant so won’t go horrible if left outside. If you need the extra space, you can easily fold the sunbed and put it away until you need it again. At only £30, this is a real bargain! At the time of writing, this is currently out of stock online but may be available in your local centre.
Am I the only who hasn’t seen this before? This is definitely one of the best accessories for your sun lounger! Simple place on your seat, pack the pockets with everything you need right beside you. Whether that’s sun lotion (definitely a must!), sunglasses, phone or anything else. Plus, these are great to take on holiday with you! The Garden Chair Organisers from House of Bath are priced at £15.95 for a pack of two – perfect.
This year, I’ve become a big fan of outdoor rugs. It’s a simple yet effective way to bring the indoors outside and turn your outdoor space into an al fresco lounge. An outdoor rug is a great way to cover an ugly patio, ideal if you’re renting! These rugs by Dash & Albert are made from polypropylene which makes them ideal for use both outdoors and inside. They’re scrubbable, bleachable and UV-treated to help stop them fading in the sun. The rugs come in many different styles and sizes and have an RRP from £48.
If you’re relaxing outside in the sunshine, you need somewhere to place ice cold drinks and nibbles. The Grigio Garden Butler Table from Cuckooland is so stylish and will look great in any garden. It’s a contemporary style and perfectly sized to pop whatever you need on it. Made from FSC 100% Eucalyptus, it can easily be folded away when not in use. The grey and white look matches many different furniture styles!
Don’t worry if you’re limited on space as you can pick up many great pieces of furniture and decor accessories to enjoy the lovely weather. Perfect for balconies, the Easy Chair from IKEA is my firm favourite. I have one of these on my patio and absolutely LOVE it! I just need to get another so I have a set. They’re made from plastic and is both fade resistant and UV stabilised which prevents cracking and drying out. When not in use, you can easily stack multiple of these together. I highly recommend picking one up from IKEA when you’re nearby!
Keep cool and refreshed
Whether you’re entertaining friends or having some much needed R&R in the garden, the Fusion collection at Wilko is perfect for outdoor dining. One of my favourites is the Fusion Tumbler with straw, featuring an elegant blue Mediterranean-inspired pattern, echoing the look of beautiful tiles. Great for a nice ice cold drink to sip on! Perfect for the table outside is the Fusion Plastic Pitcher. It comes in a cool blue colour and perfect for cocktails, soft drinks or anything else you fancy. I love the look of this collection!
These colourful tumblers from MADE.COM are perfect for the summer. Comes in a pack of 4 and each glass has a different colour tone. These are great to help you achieve the recommended 5-8 glasses of water a day and definitely vital in the hot weather. Whether you’re sipping water, fruit juice or even a nice alcoholic beverage, these will be perfect for garden parties!
If you like ice cold wine but don’t want to keep getting up to head inside to the fridge, the Corkcicle is perfect for you. I own one of these and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made. Simply pop this Corkcicle in the freezer and put it into a bottle of open wine – just ensure you’ve taken some wine out first or it will go everywhere, I always make this mistake! The frozen Corkcicle will help keep the wine nice and cold, ready to serve when you fancy it. This particular Corckcicle is currently out of stock on the Cuckooland website, however, there’s a better one which includes a spout (so you don’t need to take the Corkcicle out to pour) and an aerator. Take a look at the link above.
Now, who doesn’t want to cool down in their very own pool? This is my dream to either have a pool in the summer or one of those inflatable hot tubs. I’ve seen so many sitting underneath Pergolas on Pinterest that I’ve fallen in love with them! If you’re thinking of getting a pool, this Intex Frame Pool from Amazon has a fantastic rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars from 172 reviews. The pool is made from puncture resistant 3-ply material and holds a whopping 1,662 litres of water! Now all you need is some inflatables! Pool party anyone?
Ready for the heatwave? With all of this, we think you will be! We can’t wait for the weekend of sunshine to begin. Let us know in the comments below what you have planned…
