I am a big fan of Halloween and love getting the house decorated for the occasion. Since getting my own house a couple of years ago I have been slowly growing my Halloween collection. I always find that the high street is the best place to get some really affordable things to make your house spooky! The big supermarkets are also a great place to look – have a browse next time you are doing a food shop, you won’t be disappointed!
With the sudden change of the season and the rush of life that it usually brings, Halloween tends to creep up on me. To help with that last-minute rush I thought it would be nice to put together a list of some of the products out there this season so you know which stores to hit.
John Lewis
I’m starting strong here with what might be some of my favourite pieces that I found. I love the pumpkins of varying colours and sizes and the fluffy black owls are adorable! John Lewis is offering some really lovely pieces that won’t make your house look too over the top. I think I enjoy this collection mostly because of these beautifully styled shots and all of a sudden I find myself lusting over a matte black wall! Just me?
Ginger Ray
Some great pieces here if you are thinking of throwing a Halloween party for friends or family. They have everything you would possibly need from bunting, plates, cups, napkins, down to fun pieces you can use in photos. Having never come across Ginger Ray before I was pleasantly surprised to see that they do great party products for pretty much any occasion you could think of! One to keep in mind!
Poundland
If you don’t want to spend the money decorating the whole house or if Halloween isn’t really your thing and this year is a one-off then this might solve your decor issues! Poundland is stocking some surprisingly nice pieces for a Halloween get together. They may not stand the test of time but are a perfect budget-friendly solution!
Lights4Fun
Our friends at Lights4fun always come to mind this time of year. They have not only a great range of lights to get your home ready for any holiday season but they also have some really great decor pieces and their Halloween pieces are no exception. Their faux candle collection is extensive and has pretty much anything you would want!
Sainsburys Home
Easily accessible, fairly priced and (from personal experience) long lasting – what more could you want from decorations that you are only getting out to use once a year!
TK Maxx/Homesense
If you haven’t found yourself in a Homesense yet then you are seriously missing out. It’s owned by TK Maxx but filled with everything for your home. It’s one of my go-to places and somewhere that I find myself in having a browse more often than I would like to admit! They have an amazing Halloween selection – I always get excited when I see their products coming out!
Biscuiteers
We have had the pleasure of meeting the Biscuiteers team a couple of times at various events and can honestly say they are wonderful and so passionate about biscuits. I had to include these in the post as I feel they would add something very special to a Halloween party and would look amazing displayed on a buffet table. Having tried my fair share of Biscuiteer biscuits I also know that these are going to deliver on flavour too.
I can’t wait to get my decorations out and the house all dressed up ready for the spooky holiday! I’ll be adding this DIY Ghost bunting to my collection – available to download exclusively from us! Is Halloween something that you do in your home or do you tend to give it a miss?
Until next time…
