I can’t believe I’m already writing about Autumn/Winter 2020 home collections, but here I am on a day where it’s raining in the middle of so-called summer. It really does feel very autumnal this weekend!
If you’ve read my previous posts before, you’ll know that autumn is my favourite season. Everything about it, the colour of trees changing, the chill in the air and especially the warmth indoors when coming home. It’s all about being cosy inside with a few candles lit.
July is usually the time for brands to start releasing their Autumn/Winter and Christmas collections. Due to current global events, some of the yearly Christmas events I go to in July have been either cancelled or postponed. However, I have been seeing new homeware collection previews landing in my inbox, so I just couldn’t wait to share the first of many. First up is a sneak peek at Dunelm‘s Autumn/Winter 2020 homeware collections.
I’m a huge fan of Dunelm and each year they improve upon their homeware collections. This year, they have some beautiful collections which I’m sure will be extremely popular. This season there are three core collections, Retreat, Reluxed, Arts and Crafts and some new accessories perfect for winter. This post I’m sharing some of my favourites across all the collections which I think you’ll like.
Much of the furniture and homeware accessories you see are now available online however, there may be some items not available just yet. Keep an eye out at your local store for the new collection!
Retreat
This style is timeless with accents of natural timber, tactile textiles and lovely comfy furniture. I can see pieces from this collection easily matching all kinds of styles at home, without having to replace everything. Starting with beautiful pieces for the lounge, cosy blankets for the bedroom and even your utility room can have an update with matt black storage and brand new cleaning range made from eco-friendly materials.
“Faux foliage is a no-maintenance way to bring the outside in. Dried and preserved foliage reflect the trend, but you can mix with real greenery for a look that can be changed all year round.”
Debbie, Designer Director at Dunelm
“The combination of natural textures within this table setting create a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for working from home in the day and you can easily reset the mood for dining, in the evening.”
Anna, Designer at Dunelm
Arts and Crafts
The style of the arts and crafts look has been brought up to date with this new collection in Dunelm. There are beautiful motifs and patterns on elegant fabrics which look great. The deep colours make each room feel warming and welcoming which is just what you need for the darker and cooler months.
“Navy blue with highlights of rich ochre is the latest colour combination for the modern country kitchen. The rich tones of acacia wood grain and basketry are the perfect addition, to bring a little bit of nature indoors.”
Debbie, Design Director at Dunelm
Winter Warm
And for winter, a collection of modern designs ready to surround yourself with and relax from the day-to-day. This collection is full of luxurious faux fur blankets and rugs, soft cushions and comfy furniture to properly get all cosy and snug. The food storage, cookware and tableware in this collection is my particular favourite. I’m in love with the deep blue plates with a reactive glaze and don’t get me started on how nice the industrial-inspired stools are! I definitely could do with those!
I can’t wait to finally see these and many more new items in-store very soon! Not that I’m wishing summer away anytime soon.
